WhatsApp continues to enhance its app by bringing in new features and enhancing existing ones that make chatting fun and the overall feel of the chatting app a lot more fun.
Reports indicate that WhatsApp is working on making the ‘Last Seen’ feature more controllable to the point that now you can define who can see your last status. This feature will enable you to ensure that you can bifurcate those whom you trust with your status and those whom you would rather want to avoid to a certain degree.
As spotted by WABetaInfo, the Facebook owned company is currently working on new privacy tools that will allow you to limit who has access to specific portions of your profile.. Currently, “Last Seen,” “Profile Picture,” and “About” can either be seen by everyone, your contacts, or no one at all. These options didn’t offer you granular controls and where rather pretty strict compared to other messaging apps. You will soon be able to control the audience for your status message as WhatsApp is currently experimenting with the ability to remove certain people from seeing it.
With this option, you’ll be able to hide your “Last Seen” status and time from people whom you don’t want to be bothered regarding you being online or not. This option will also support profile photos and bios, providing much more control over privacy than previously offered. Disabling “Last Seen” will remain a two-way street — if you hide it from a group of people in your contacts list, WhatsApp will hide their information in return.
WABetaInfo has posted some other information about the chat reaction feature from which it looks like that the new features will be much more like those you see on Facebook while you chat. You can use any emoji to react to a message. Moreover, the report says that the reactions aren’t anonymous and everyone in the group will be able to see who has reacted and with which emoji.
