2 charged in club shooting Saturday

As of this morning, two individuals have been officially charged in the shooting that occurred in Gunnison Saturday which left eight people injured.

Kiewain Evans and Torrionate Cooper, both of Rosedale, have been charged with eight counts of aggravated assault in connection with the shooting.

The shooting occurred during the early morning hours on Saturday at a local night club, Club Platinum, said Deputy Charlie Griffin.

The sheriff’s office received the call around 1:19 a.m. in response to shots fired at the club.

“Eight people were shot,” said Griffin. “They were transported to Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland.

“None of them had life threatening injuries,” said Griffin. “The victims were shot in the arms, legs and I believe one female was shot in the back.”
