Dixie Youth All-Star action will be hot and heavy this weekend as local teams will be competing in North Region and State Baseball Tournaments.

Bear Pen Park in Cleveland will be the host site for the Dixie Youth 9-year-old North Region Baseball Tournament and the 10-year-old North Region Baseball Tournament.

The Cleveland West 9-year-old All-Stars will take on Kosciusko at 4 p.m. on Friday while the Cleveland West 10-year-old All-Stars will take on Roy Campenella at 6 p.m. Friday. If the Cleveland West 9-year-old All-Stars win, they will play at 1 p.m. against the winner of the Washington County-Yazoo City game. If they lose, they will play loser of that same game. If the Cleveland West 10-year-old All-Stars win, they will play the Washington County-Game 2 winner at 3 p.m. on Saturday. If they lose, they will play the loser of the Yazoo City-Carthage game.

Both double elimination tournaments are scheduled to last through Monday. The 10-year-old tournament could end on Sunday.

The Cleveland Eastside 11-year-old All-Stars will play in the Dixie Youth Majors North Region Baseball Tournament in Grove Park at Jackson Saturday with their first game being against Boys Baseball at 10 a.m. The tournament is double elimination and could last through Monday.

The Cleveland Eastside 8-year-old All-Stars will be competing in the Dixie Youth 8-year-old Coach Pitch State Tournament in Pascagoula starting Saturday. Cleveland East will play the No. 3 team from the South at 11 a.m. The tournament will last through Tuesday.

The Cleveland East All-Stars were able to advance to state by finishing third in the Dixie Youth 8-year-old Coach Pitch North Region Tournament in Kosciusko last weekend.

The Cleveland Dixie Boys All-Stars will be competing in the Dixie Boys State Baseball Tournament at Laurel. Cleveland will play Kosciusko at 5 p.m. on Saturday. If Cleveland wins, the team will play the winner of the Petal-Laurel game on Sunday. If Cleveland loses, the team will play the loser of that same game on Sunday.
