Dollar General, located on Miss. Highway 8 just inside the Rosedale city limits, will have its grand opening at 8 a.m. this Saturday.
This is the third store bearing the Dollar General name to open in the area in the last few months.
Though Ruleville and Merigold have also recently celebrated Dollar General grand openings as well, there is something a little different about the Ruleville location.
“The Rosedale store will be located at 901 Highway 8 and will have 12,480 total square feet,” said Emily Weiss, media relations manager for Dollar General Corporation, in a previous interview.
By size, the Rosedale location is one of the biggest in the area. Both the Ruleville and Merigold locations are 9,014 square feet.
The Rosedale location will also feature a new layout.
“The new 12,480 square foot store features a fresh layout, designed to make shopping simple for customers,” wrote Rebecca Sanders in a press release for the grand opening. “Some of the store’s new features include seasonal products featured in the center of the store, easily recognizable departments with visible signage and coolers conveniently located at the front of the store.
“Dollar General stores offer convenience and value to customers by providing a focused selection of national brands and private brands of food, housewares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, basic apparel and health and beauty care products,” continued Sanders.
Community members that attend the grand opening event Saturday are also eligible to receive deals and prizes.
“At the grand opening event, customers will enjoy special deals and free prizes,” Sanders wrote in the release. “The first 50 shoppers at the store will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag, among other giveaways.”
