“We received a call (Monday) morning from the victim,” said Chief Buster Bingham. “The victim stated that her ex-boyfriend, Howard Wilson, had broken into her home and she was awaken by him choking her.”
Bingham said the incident happened in the 600 block of Pearl Ave.
“She stated she was able to roll out from under him,” said Bingham. “She then grabbed a small knife and attempted to stab him in the chest. After struggling with him for about two hours, it may not have been that long, he took the knife from her and they started struggling again.
“Eventually, he left and he took her phone with him,” he said. “She was then able to run out and call for help.
“We are asking for assistance in locating Mr. Wilson,” said Bingham. “The last known address we had for him was at a residence in Ruleville.
“We’ve been to that address but we didn’t have any luck,” he said.
“If anyone has any information about Mr. Wilson’s whereabouts, we’re asking that they call the police department at 662-843-3611,” said Bingham. “As always any information will be kept confidential.”
