Candidates must qualify by Friday.
Kelly said, "To run for the school board, a person must be non-partisan, have no felony convictions and be a registrant in the district where they are running. That candidate has to have 50 signatures on a petition to qualify."
School boards have staggered seats so every board seat is not up for election at the same time.
The newly consolidated districts will also have a seat up for election.
In the Cleveland School District, the District 4 seat held by Harvey Jackson will be decided.
In the North Bolivar Consolidated School District, the seat held by Roger Morris will be up for election and in the West Bolivar Consolidated School District, the seat held by Ruby Miller will be voted on.
To vote, a person has to have a photo ID.
Photo ID's can be obtained in the circuit clerk's office free of charge. “A person can walk in now and in a few days their ID will be sent," said Kelly.
The election is set for Nov. 4.
