Ladner wins club title

The 60th Annual Cleveland Country Club Championship Golf Tournament proved to be an exciting event this weekend.

When Sunday’s action came to a close, Philip Ladner ended up winning the event with an even par, 144. He shot a 73 on Saturday and a 71 on Sunday to finish one stroke ahead of H.L. Dilworth, who shot a 145 in the championship flight. Dilworth was tied with Ladner after Saturday with a 73 and ended up shooting a 72 on Sunday. Ladner also won the seniors (50-64) division, while Dilworth won the super seniors (65-74) division. Bob Ragan won the grand seniors (75 and older) division with a 175.

Another highlight of the tournament came on Saturday when Brett Boykin used a 7-iron to connect on a hole-in-one on hole No. 2.

Ken Horton won the first flight with a 146, Jimmy Childers won the second flight with a 153, DJ Williams won the third flight with a 154, Michael Whitten won the fifth flight with a 169 and Earl Dykes won the sixth flight with a 169.
