Visitation will be held from Tuesday, August 12, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at the Cleveland Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be held at Interstate Baptist Church Wednesday, August 13, 2014, from noon until 1:45 p.m.
Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Interstate Baptist Church Sanctuary. Interment will be at the North Cleveland Cemetery. Reverends Larry Chouccoli and Robert Haney will officiate the service.
John was born on March 23, 1964, to John and Barbara (Williams) Chouccoli Sr. in Leland. He grew up in the Delta and graduated Leland High School in 1983. He also attended Delta State University. In 1988 John went to work at Denton Dairy in Cleveland. He began his career as a route salesman but it was not but a few months of employment that the owners saw great potential and moved him into the office, at his death John was the General Manager of Denton Dairy. He married Wanda Weeks Chouccoli on May 18, 1985. Together they have raised two sons Travis and Trent. John was also a minister of the Gospel of Christ, he began his ministerial service in March of 1997 serving many of the area churches before he was called to be the Senior pastor of Interstate Baptist Church in 2012. John loved sports of all kinds. He enjoyed refereeing and umpiring for Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) for many years. He was an avid Mississippi State Football fan and enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints play. John loved serving God and ministering to others. Through his illness John was able to minister to others and show his great faith and dedication to God. He was loved by many and will be missed by all his family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father John Prentiss Chouccoli, Sr.
John is survived by his wife of 29 years, Wanda Weeks Chouccoli of Shaw; mother, Barbara Williams Montpelier of Vicksburg; sons, Travis Chouccoli and wife (Krislee) of Oxford and, Trent Chouccoli of Shaw; sisters, Renee Chouccoli of Vicksburg and Carla Biedenhorn (Brent) of Hattiesburg; brothers, Heath Chouccoli (Jackie) of Rayville, La., and Kenneth Chouccoli (Christine) of Vicksburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rick Stanford, Thomas Haney, Jackie Mims, Kenny Jones, Steve Burchfield and Al Cummins. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Interstate Baptist Church.
