She was born in Clarksdale on January 24, 1944, to William Frank Hardin and Barbara Smith Hardin. Both of her parents have predeceased her. She was raised on the family farm in Duncan and graduated from Shelby High School and from Mississippi State College for Women. She attended Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Ky., for two years. She taught school in New Albany, Ind., and Gwinnett County, Ga., and moved to Cartersville in 1970. She was an active member of Mount Paran Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years David Grabensteder; son Dan Grabensteder and wife Leslie and granddaughter Brooklyn; daughter Beth Cain and husband Jeremy and grandchildren Madelin, Sophie and Samuel Cain; and brother Billy Hardin and wife Toni and nephew William Hardin of Duncan.
Funeral services were conducted by the Owen Funeral Home, Cartersville, Ga., with Pastor Kent Hawkins, associate pastor of Mount Paran Church of God officiating.
Visitation with the family was from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Owen Funeral Home with services at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014, in the Owens Chapel. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
