On Monday night, May 12, at 10 p.m., Kathy became very ill. We called Dr. Benny Wright for help and he told us to go to the hospital, as she needed to be admitted. He informed us that he would call ahead and give the hospital orders. We went to Bolivar Medical Center and entered through the ER. We stopped at the ER emergency admissions desk and Kathy told them her name. Two nice receptionists informed us that they had been expecting us. Kathy signed the necessary forms and we were told to sit in the waiting room for a nurse from 3rd floor to come get her. We waited less than 5 minutes when we were greeted by a very friendly nurse welcoming us to Bolivar Medical Center.
The nurses took us to a room and began the admission process. Soon we were greeted by the charge nurse for the floor and she introduced the others who would be caring for us. The admission process was prompt and thorough.
Tests were conducted on Tuesday and it was determined that Kathy would require surgery on Wednesday. We were visited by several key personnel while we were in the hospital. All the nurses and other hospital staff were very friendly and willing to help us in any way.
When it came time for Kathy to be discharged, it was done so in a timely manner.
Friends and fellow citizens of Cleveland & Bolivar County, Bolivar Medical Center is OUR hospital. This hospital was built to care for our families. They are making a strong and visible effort to be sure that every patient who enters their facility is cared for in a professional manner and is treated with respect. We need Bolivar Medical Center to be a strong and vibrant medical facility. In order for this to happen they need YOUR support. They are currently undergoing a major renovation on several floors. Soon you will see brighter rooms, fresh new paint, new hardware, furniture and equipment.
