Sears of Cleveland is saluting the local heroes of Cleveland from Saturday through Dec. 31.

Sears will be supporting first responders through a partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council with a program called "Salute to Local Heroes."

For every Craftsman Bottle Opener sold at $9.99, Sears will make a $2 donation.

In addition, each customer will be asked to donate from $1 to $10.

All funds raised will be given to the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department.

"First responders are fighting fires, responding to accidents and keeping our communities safe while risking their lives to protect our communities and loved ones.

"This program is designed to provide them with critical funds so they may have the training, equipment and support they need when we need them most," said Darry Hardy of Sears.

"We are very honored that they are doing this for us," said Cleveland Fire Inspector Gene Bishop.
