Over 200 people have listed themselves as participating on the "Justice for Shelby" Facebook page.
"There are many that have not responded on Facebook, but by word of mouth have said they are coming. It's going to be over 200 at least," said Angie Harmon.
"We're going to try our best and hope for the best," said Harmon in regards to the cloudy weather predicted for Saturday.
The walk-a-thon will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bear Pen Park.
"We've had such an outpouring of support with the community and the businesses here and we are so appreciative of them. They will be listed on the shirts and some of the late comers won't be on it but we still appreciate every one of them," said Harmon.
The cost to participate is $15 for an individual and $30 for a family or organization. Shelby 's Voice T-shirts will be available at the walk-a-thon and if an individual registers and wants a T-shirt as well, the cost is $20.
Sponsors for the event will be listed on the shirt.
Non-walkers can purchase Shelby 's Voice t-shirts for $10.
Shelby Harmon, 20, died early in the morning of Oct. 20, 2012, on U.S. Highway 61 N. near the Bolivar-Washington County lines.
A pedestrian at the time of the accident, Harmon was struck by multiple vehicles, including a pickup truck allegedly driven by her boyfriend, Rodney Shelton Fulgham, 23.
While Fulgham has been indicted and awaiting trial, Harmon 's family continues to reach out to the community to spread awareness and make sure Shelby is remembered.
Harmon plans to spend time with family on Oct. 20, the day of Shelby's death, and attend a special service at their church that evening.
