He was born in Clarksdale on January 20, 1945. He graduated with a BS degree from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in psychology from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Ga.
He decided to go to San Diego, Calif., and opened a resume business. However, after awhile he moved back to Atlanta, Ga., and became a career coach. He did consulting seminars for people changing professions and individual executive coaching. He also chaired the Executive Roundtable Discussions regarding career counseling.
He was a member of the MDI - Dog Soldiers. They stand for family values, integrity, support for each other and community services.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Estelle Binder.
He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Marilyn Abrams; brother, Jerry Binder and wife Sharon; brother, Joe Paul Binder and wife Pam; daughter, Lydia Bailey Brown and husband Mike; grandchildren, Cary and Callie Brown; niece Heather Binder and nephew, Jared Binder and wife Laura and great niece Isabel Binder; nephews, Alan Abrams, Terry Abrams and wife Maria and great nephew, Ryan Abrams.
He is also survived by very special friend, Sandy Bell; and another special friend, Jim Curran, a member of the MDI.
Burial will be in Beth Israel Cemetery in Clarksdale on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 11 a.m.
