The Lady Colts will welcome Prairie View Academy, Tri-County Academy, Leake Academy, Glenbrook School, Riverfield Academy, Winona Christian, North Delta and Canton Academy.
This season marks the first year the Lady Colts have competed in Class AA softball since 2005. Bayou had been competing in Class A softball and dominated that classification winning seven north state titles and six state championships in seven years.
Heading into Saturday's games not much has changed with Bayou sporting a 30-5 season record with a 10-0 mark in District 1-AA play.
"Our mindset is good. We are ready to play. This part of the season is always exciting. We just have to focus on taking one game at a time," said Lauren LaSuzzo, Bayou head coach.
The games will start at 9 a.m. Saturday on Field 1 with game one between the District-3, No. 3 seed Prairie View Academy versus the District-2, No. 3 seed Tri-County Academy.
The Lady Colts, who are the No. 1 seeded team from District-1, will play the winner of the Prairie View vs. Tri-County game at 12:30 Saturday.
Leake Academy (District 2, No. 1 seed) will play Glenbrook School (District 3, No. 2) at 9 a.m. on Field 2; Riverfield Academy (District 3, No. 1 seed) will take on Winona Christian School (District 2, No. 2 seed) at 10:45 a.m. on Field 1 and North Delta School (District 1, No. 2 seed) will play Canton Academy (District 2, No. 2 seed) at 10:45 a.m. on Field 2.
The winners of the Riverfield-Winona and North Delta-Canton games will play each other at 4 p.m. Saturday on Field 2.
If Bayou wins, the team will play the winner of the Glenbrook-Leake game at 4 p.m., but if Bayou loses, the team will play the winner of Game 6 at 2:15 p.m.
The tournament will conclude on Monday with the championship game set for 2:15 p.m. The top four teams from the North State will advance to the state tournament.
