Dr. and Mrs. John Golden Stevens, Jr. of Americus, Ga., announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Courtney Gale Stevens, to Christopher Brett Warren, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie A. Warren Jr. of Canton.

Miss Stevens is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gale W. Davis of Albany, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Golden Stevens Sr. of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

She is a 2012 Delta State University graduate, where she received a bachelor of arts in English with a creative writing emphasis.

She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Fraternity, Phi Phi chapter, and served on the Panhellenic Council.

She is also a member of the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, Delta Sigma Pi. She is currently pursuing a master’s in fine arts at Hollins University in children's literature.

She is a writer, as well as a reporter for The Bolivar Commercial, and the youth director at St. Luke United Methodist Church.

Mr. Warren is the grandson of Mr. Eddie Warren Sr. of Canton, the late Helen Warren and the late Mrs. and Mrs. W. Jack Wooten of Gainesville, Fla.

He is a 2011 graduate of Holmes Community College where he received an associate's degree of art.

He is a current student at Delta State University, where he is pursuing a bachelor's degree in elementary education with in HPER and history endorsement.

He is a former Holmes Community College tight end and a current member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Delta Sigma chapter.

He is a member of the St. Luke United Methodist Church Choir.

The couple will wed at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Cleveland on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 6 p.m.
