Emergency personnel on the scene in Renova
Two children were left without a mother late Tuesday morning after a young woman in her 20s was shot and killed in the middle of the street.

Neighbors flooded Daisy Street in Renova as blue and reds lights flashed.

The Bolivar County Sherriff's Department received a call reporting a shooting around 11:17 a.m.

They are now currently investigating a possible double homicide in Renova after Callie Ware was shot and killed in front of her home.

Ware was two months pregnant at the time.

Ware apparently was in an altercation with several young ladies when she was wounded by a shotgun in the street in front of her home at 142 Daisy Street.

The shooter was L.M. Birge, the father of one of the women involved in the altercation.

Birge has not been charged due to the investigation still being in progress.

"We are talking to witnesses about the details we aren't sure of," said Kelvin Williams, Bolivar County sheriff.

"We can't charge him until we have completed the investigation."

Despite his not being charged, Birge will remain in custody.

"He will be held until we complete the investigation," said Williams.

The Bolivar Commercial will have more on this as the story develops.
