Rev. R.B. "Buddy" McNeer, 82, died Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe, La.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 17, 2013, from 10-12 at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City. Services will be at noon at the funeral home chapel with burial in the Glenwood Cemetery. Rev. Jerry File, Rev. Jim Pender and Rev. Lewis Kalil will officiate.

Robert Basil McNeer was born October 16, 1930 in Cleveland to Doty and Bessie Robinson McNeer. He pastored at Short Creek Baptist Church in Yazoo City, First Baptist Church in Louise, Alexander Memorial Baptist Church in James, Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Eden, and as interim pastor at several other churches. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Yazoo City.

Rev. McNeer was preceded in death by his wife, Melly Durastanti McNeer on April 8, 2006; his parents Doty and Bessie McNeer; brother Willie Gale McNeer; brothers-in-law, Dub Sumrall and Durrell Hays; and nephews, Bryan and Scott McNeer.

He is survived by daughter Gail and husband Raymond Lingenfelder of Monroe, La., and two great-grandchildren Blake and Madison Lingenfelder; sisters Susie Sumrall of Cleveland, Joye Hays of Crowville, La., Peggy Saunders of Warren, Ark., brothers Donnell McNeer (Gloria) and Chester McNeer (Martha) of Cleveland, and Lester McNeer of Nesbit and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be grandson Chas Lingenfelder, great-grandson Blake Lingenfelder, Herman Jones, J.T. Ketchum Jr., Ron McNeer, and Jerry Sumrall. Honorary Pallbearer will be Norman Damiens.
