First visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home with Dr. David Sartin officiating. Interment will be in Beulah Cemetery.
Mr. Moorhead was born September 23, 1922, to Robert Lyles Moorhead and Julia Clarice Addington Moorhead. He proudly served our country in the Army Air Corp as well as the United States Air Force during WWII and the Korean Conflict. On June 10, 1947, he married Martha Jean Smith in Calhoun County. He was an avid farmer, an active member of the American Legion Post #165, and was a retired Volunteer Fireman with the city of Rosedale.
He enjoyed welding and designing things that would benefit the farm, gardening, big fish fries, and spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lyles Moorhead and Julia Clarice Addington Moorhead; wife, Martha Jean Smith Moorhead; two sisters, Marie Harrison and Lorean Taylor; and a brother, Edward Earl Moorhead.
Mr. Moorhead is survived by his sons, James Dasel Moorhead, Wilson Lyles Moorhead, and Floyd Moorhead, all of Rosedale; daughters, Brenda Jo Moorhead of Rosedale and Lisa Moorhead Bullock (Norman) of Merigold; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Annette Moorhead Massey Miller of Paris.
Pallbearers will be Bill Lyles Moorhead, Jeremy Teer, Jonathan Moorhead, Mike Addington, Phillip Adams, and Ronnie Etheridge.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Moorhead, David Adams, Jim Adams, and Jason Moorhead.
