Edward L. “Bo” Gilbert, 70, of Lake Village, Ark., died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village.

Memorial services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Village with Bro. Mike Bell officiating. Arrangements were made by of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.

He was born November 10, 1942, in Rosedale to the late James L. Gilbert and Lillian York Gilbert. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, a retired Chicot County Chief Deputy, and a Baptist.

Bo served in law enforcement for over 33 years. He started his career at Marianna Police Department. In 1973, he also worked for Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department and Desha County Sheriff’s Department, 10 Judicial Drug Task Force, and finally with Chicot County Sheriff’s Department.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
