A two-car collision slowed traffic on U.S. Highway 61 Tuesday around 1 p.m. outside the Wade, Inc. facility in Boyle.

Vehicle one, a 1998 white Pontiac, was driven by Sameller Hill, 61 of Bolivar County. Hill was turning left out of Wade when she collided with the passenger side of vehicle two, a 2005 Kia Amanti, driven by May Williams, 61, also of Bolivar County.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop D Sgt. Ben Williams said the official cause of the accident has not been announced but both vehicles were significantly damaged.

The Bolivar County Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene when vehicle one was leaking fluids and smoking.

Vehicle one’s passenger Andrew Jones Jr., 25, experienced pain in the neck. Vehicle two passenger Johnny Williams, 68, felt extreme pain in his right arm after the majority of the impact struck his side of the vehicle. He was transported to Bolivar Medical Center.

Vehicle two’s rear passenger Patricka Williams, 19, also experienced pain, while May Williams did not report major injuries.
