Mr. Harry Pat Brooks, 86, of Cleveland died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Merigold United Methodist Church in Merigold.

Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow beginning at 11 a.m. with Bro. Barry Dickerson. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.

Mr. Brooks was born October 21, 1926, to Harry Bascom Brooks and Vannie Newby Brooks. He married Maggie Elizabeth Wingo on July 21, 1950, in Tunica. He served in the Army during War II in the 76th Ground Force in the Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Delta Alumni Association. He worked at GMAC were he retired after 35 years and operated the Saturday Shop. He was a wonderful family man who he loved people. He was also an avid trumpet player with local dance bands.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry Bascom Brooks and Vannie Newby Brooks; aunt, Ida Lee Newby; beloved wife of 60 years, Maggie Elizabeth Wingo Brooks; son, Randy Wingo Brooks; and siblings, Houston Brooks, and Henri Frances Arnz.

Mr. Brooks is survived by his daughters, Karen Kemp (Don), and Patsy (Bob) Bane; grandchildren, Andrew Kemp, Alice Kemp, Randle Bane, and Laurel Bane.
