Mary Alice Hooker Monroe, 43, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Renova, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Morning View Baptist Church, 1626 Carnegie St., Memphis, Tenn.

Celebration of life service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Alvin Fleming officiating

Another visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 30, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Merigold.

Celebration of life service will immediately follow with Pastor Bobby L. Williams officiating.

Burial will follow in Merigold Cemetery, under the direction of R.S. Lewis and Sons, Funeral Home of Memphis, Tenn.

She is survived by her husband Edward Monroe of Memphis, Tenn.; parents, Edward and Mattie Hooker of Renova; children, Brevin Armond and Bralin Anya Monroe of Memphis, Tenn.; brother Edward (Sonya) Hooker Jr. of Renova; stepson Brandon Peterson of Jackson; nephew, Malik D’Edward Hooker, whom she called her first born baby; nephews, Kristopher and Kristian Aldridge, Thetis Jr. and Kyle Hardy, Jashard and Christopher Jackson; nieces Kierra and Deandria Hooker; her grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Roby of Mound Bayou; godparents Joseph an Willena White; godsister Felicia White Eddington; mother-in-law Mary Ann Murphy (Eddie) of Bedford, Texas; father-in-law Edward Evans of Cleveland; brother-in-law Aaron (Stacy) Evans; sister-in-law, Felicia Evans of Bedford, Texas; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and many, many dear close and devoted friends.
