At 7 p.m. Friday in the State Room at Delta State University, the Lions will present an evening of magic featuring comedian and magician Brian Staron.
Staron has been a full time performer for over 25 years.
His show is made up of a special blend of slapstick humor and incredible magic.
Staron's show has been described as "live situation comedy."
The show is suitable for all ages and relies heavily on audience participation.
Staron has performed before millions of people throughout the world at world-renowned theme parks, cruise ship lines, colleges, and private venues.
He is in high demand and is considered one of the best corporate performers in the country. His corporate client list, reads like a who's who of the Fortune 500.
Staron is a staple at Disney World performing over 800 shows each year for them.
One of his fans commented last June; “I stay at the (Disney) Boardwalk for 10 days twice a year and I catch as many of Brian's shows as possible. He is funny, a great magician, and very good at thinking on his feet. I never get tired of watching Brian perform.”
Another fan this past January said, “We saw Brian in Disney on the Boardwalk. One of our favorite things we did this trip. The kids can`t wait to see him again.”
Staron has won the You Create Disney Magic award four times, the You're a Disney Star award five time and the prestigious Basics honors nine times.
All three awards are presented by Disney Executives for "show excellence."
The Basics honor is based on five criteria that were originally set by Walt Disney himself.
Tickets are still available for Friday’s show hosted by the Lions and it includes a Prime Rib Dinner.
Tickets are $40 person and may be purchased from any Lions Club member or by calling B.G. Tatum at 843-2028 or Terry Everett at 719-0377.
