Two more candidates have turned in their qualifying papers for the May 7 elections for the mayor and board of aldermen of Cleveland.

The latest to submit their paperwork are Danny Abraham, incumbent of Ward 3, and Gary Gainspolettii, incumbent alderman-at-large.

Several have already turned in qualifying paperwork to City Administrator John Lindsey, who is acting as interim city clerk.

They include Mayor Billy Nowell, Ward 1 Alderman Maurice Smith, Ward 2 Alderman Robert Sanders and Ward 6 Alderman Ted Campbell.

Also filing papers is Kevin Cox for alderman of Ward 3.

Candidates have until 5 p.m. March 8 to turn in paperwork to Lindsey.

Qualified candidates have until April 5 to contact The Bolivar Commercial for a free front-page story on their candidacy for office.

The candidate or a BC staff writer may write the story. All stories will be no longer than 15 inches and will be printed by April 21.
