Alvin Powe, 68, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Mound Bayou, died Monday, December 3, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Mound Bayou with Bishop Roderick Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Garden in Cleveland.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at W.S. Brandon Mortuary in Cleveland and beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Erma Jean Powe of Chicago, Ill.; sons, Errol R. Powe of Atlanta, Ga., and Cedric D. Powe of Merrill, Wis.; daughter, Debra Daughtery of Mound Bayou; stepdaughters, Reschalle Peoples of Merriville, Ind., Anissa Ross of Jackson and Angela LaFrance of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Dorothy Powe and Mary Williams, both of Chicago, Ill.; brothers, Sank Powe of Cleveland; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
