Linda Bright, 65, of Drew was heading west as she attempted to pass a vehicle on the road.
According to Joe Phillips, Bolivar County Volunteer Fire Department fire chief, a witness claimed she lost control of her car, hit the nearby ditch and flipped her car multiple times.
"She was ejected from her vehicle and found 40 yards away," said Phillips. "The ejection forced Bright's body from Sunflower County into Bolivar County."
Sunflower County Coroner Heather Burton pronounced Bright died at the scene.
Sherriff departments from both counties responded to the wreck, along with the Bolivar County Volunteer Fire Department.
In an earlier incident, a collision between a car and ambulance occurred around 9 a.m. Saturday, according to the Cleveland Police Department.
Ikeia Hodges, 16, of Cleveland was turning left onto College Street heading south on Fifth Avenue when she collided with the ambulance.
Hodges was driving a grey 2005 Nissan Altima and claimed not to hear or see the activated siren and lights of the ambulance when the accident occurred.
The ambulance was responding to a call and was attempting to pass Hodges' vehicle.
Hodges was transported to the hospital with pain, but no major injuries were reported.
The driver and passenger of the ambulance were O.K.
Both vehicles were towed.
