Through out my time writing this column I have talked about break through, preparation and being able to get back up no matter what happens to you.

In that time I have given much thought to where I've been and the things I've gone through.

My tasks and trials have been numerous and the difficult job of getting past the emotional hurts, physical pain and disappointments have been enough to make me think about throwing in the towel.

I remember Donnie McClurkin had a song out that said, "We fall down, but We Get Up". The song and its message were so strong that it resonated with every one.

I think about where I am now as a 33-year-old man with three beautiful daughters and I see how I have grown. I see how I handle things differently, but I also see the residue of what I went through in a lot of areas in my life.

We say we can get back up after we fall, but no one tells you about he scars and bruises you get from falling in the first place.

I use to say that you can get over whatever you’re faced with, but I never stopped to think about the painful memories that come with the experiences.

I have always been told that time heals all wounds, but what happens when time stands still.

No matter the circumstances I have learned that there will be difficulties, but what has become my joy is that God has the power to help me deal with the pain a little better each day.

I believe the key to not allowing the bruises you get from falling or the painful memories from bad experiences to overcome you is looking at them as incentives.

What if, starting today you would look at those things as something that does not hold you back, but something that pushes you to be better?

What if every time you look at a bruise (be figuratively or literally) you look at it and become stronger, more powerful and more resilient.

I also think that if we learn that letting go is not the same as giving up then we would also approach things differently.

I know we have been taught that winners never quit and quitters never win, but if we really understand that letting go means we can really move forward and experience life more abundantly than we would have a better view of letting go all together.

Right now in our lives I believe God is preparing to break out like water and touch so many different areas of your life. He is about to bring you to a breakthrough that not only carries you out of your financial hurdles, but helps heal your relationships while touching the lives of your children and bringing peace to other areas all at the same time. I truly believe that God wants to manifest his power in our lives just like he did David, just like he did with Abraham, Moses and so many others.

As you move forward in God, learn how to let your pain from the past fuel your desire for a better future. Looking at the big picture, you will come to see that your life has purpose and you will not allow the bruises and bad experiences to keep you from letting go and letting God do a work in you.

Keep the faith and stay encouraged. M.J.T. Love.
