East Side’s Kelvin Williams did a sensational job of leading the Trojans in the boys Class 1 North Half Swimming Championship Meet Saturday in Flowood.

Williams won the boys 50-yard freestyle (25.27) and took second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.15). Williams was East Side only representative as he finished up with 16 total points. With 16 also being the point total for the school, East Side ended up finishing eighth in the team standings.

Williams will try to get pick up a state championship on Nov. 3 in the Class 1 State Swimming Championship at the Delta State Aquatic Center.
