Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Community Chapel Church in Shelby with Rev. Willie Jackson officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012, at Byas Funeral Home in Shelby followed by family hour from 5-6 p.m.
Survivors include husband, Sammie Scott of Shelby; sons, Robert Shorter of Renova, and Willie Shorter and Teddy Shorter, both of Shelby; daughters, Mary Shorter, Tiffany Scott and Lakettia Scott, all of Shelby; brother, Charles Alexander of Shelby; sisters, Lucille Scott, Helen Wells and Leomia Jiles, all of Shelby, and Linda Burrell of East St. Louis, Ill.; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
