Carlton Hardy Doty Jr., 68 died September 2, 2012, at Wheat Ridge, Colo.

Hardy was born March 10, 1944 in Cleveland to Corrine (Hewitt) and Carlton Hardy Doty Sr.

Hardy lived in the Cleveland area, except for a time in the Air Force serving his country, until relocating to Idaho in 1977. Hardy married Mary Ann Stewart in Cleveland on Valentine’s Day 1969 and they were together until her passing in 2005. Hardy graduated from Shaw High School and then attended Delta State College.

Hardy entered the Air Force and served in the Vietnam War Era in the 3381st Combat Group from 1963 to 1967. From 1967-1969 he worked on the Seisemograph ship the HMS Gulf Rex. He worked at Baxter in Cleveland until they relocated to Idaho, where he worked at Godwin Cedar, CFI, Potlatch, Weyerhauser, and Three Rivers Timber. He retired in 2009.

Hardy loved panning for gold, metal detecting, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. The past three years he spent in Wheat Ridge, Colo., with his special friend, Annette Barnard.

Hardy was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Doty; his parents, Corrine (Hewitt) and Carlton Hardy Doty Sr.; and his brothers, William and Kenneth Doty.

Hardy is survived by his daughter, Tanya Lynn Doty of Kirkland, Wash.; his son, Bradley (Sarah) Doty of Nampa, Idaho; brothers, Guy Doty of Jackson and John Doty of Cleveland; and granddaughters Emily Margret and Sarah Ann Doty of Moscow, Idaho.

Memorial Services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Kamiah Elementary School Multipurpose Room in Kamiah, Idaho. Reverend Luann Howard will officiate. A Potluck dinner will follow.

Trenary Funeral Home of Kooskia, Idaho is assisting the family.
