Booster Club holds fundraiser

The Wildcat Booster Club is having its annual Easter Boston Butt sale.

Butts are being sold for $30 each.

They can be picked up at the Cleveland High School football field concession stand on Good Friday from 4-6 p.m. or Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon.

The butts will be wrapped and ready to eat or they freeze beautifully!

Through community support, the Wildcat Booster Club has been able to make much need improvements, including new fencing; new softball and baseball dugouts; sidewalks; a new storage shed; lights on the band/soccer practice field and more.

Shaw to raise funds for library

On Saturday, the Shaw Library Committee will sponsor a Pre-Easter Bake Sale, along with an Easter Bunny kid’s enjoyment. Homemade cakes, pies, cupcakes, cookies, hot dogs and sandwiches will be for sale. The Bake Sale will take place at Johnson Grocery & Laundry, 504 Hwy 61 S, across the street from Dollar General Store, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The Shaw Library Committee is working tirelessly to raise its goal of $21,500 to keep the library doors open.

With the support of the citizens and the Shaw Ministerial Association, it has raised $2,400 since January. Anti-Tobacco Rally set

An Anti-Tobacco Rally will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Mound Bayou Facility.

Patrons are asked to wear green or light blue T-shirts.

JFK hosts Floor Show

The John F. Kennedy High School Band will hold its annual Floor Show at 6 p.m. Saturday in the John F. Kennedy Memorial High School Gym.

Admission is $7.

Scheduled to appear is Jack Roby Junior High from Pine Bluff, Ark., Lakeside High School of Lake Village, Ark., Oakhaven High School of Memphis, J.J. McClain High School of Lexington, Pine Bluff High School of Pine Bluff, Ark., Rosa Fort High School of Tunica, Fairley High School of Memphis, Simmons High School of Hollandale and Coahoma Community College of Clarksdale.

Public workshop slated

The Mound Bayou Beautification Commission will hold a General Public Workshop at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mound Bayou City Hall.

Refreshments will be served and the topic will be "Let's Talk and Let's Act on Beautifying Our Community."

4-H'ers sew

4-H offered a sewing camp during Spring Break.

Youth made capri pants and some youth made matching purses and headbands

They held a fashion show for their families where they modeled what they sewed.

The Optimist Club and 4-H Volunteers served lunch for the families of the participants.

4-H members will have an opportunity to participant in the 4-H Clothing Construction Contest this summer.

Youth who took the 4-H Sewing Camp are: Mariah Forest, Rebecca Weaver, Keirra Birch, Hannah Cottam, Mikayla Moore, Ciercy Holcomb, Sara Beth Mullins. 4-H Volunteers who held the sewing camp: Joyce Barnes, Cedie Kendall, Libba Mullins, and Helen Coleman.
