Residents of Merigold now have the luxury of a new town convenience store as 3 Way opened recently to service the community.

The new convenience store is a good truck stop service and also provides breakfast, lunch, and homemade dessert, said store manager Allen Howell, who has years of experience in management as he has managed retail for 20 years.

According to Pam Jones, the wife of owner Stanley Jones, on Feb. 1, there will be a ribbon cutting for the opening of 3 Way, which will be conducted by the Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce.

In attendance will also be Bolivar County Administrator Will Hooker who Mrs. Jones said played a major role in helping to open the business.

Pam said a local radio station will broadcast onsite on Feb. 4 as a way to continue the store's opening celebration.

During the festivities, they will be selling their signature barbecue and foot long hot dogs, and there will also be a drawing for a dune buggy.

“This store will be convenient for people of the Merigold community to order in food or come in for breakfast, lunch and dinner,” said Pam.

According to Pam, the convenience store has a full deli with up to nine employees and it serves fast food items like hamburgers, barbecue and homemade cakes and casseroles.

Costumers are also able to order desserts for special occasions.

According to Pam, in addition to food, the convenience store sells pottery and jewelry and gas and farm diesel.

3 Way is located at 4329 U.S. Highway 61 North, Hwy 61, where the old and new meets.

According to Jones, the convenience store was built from part of Knight Line, which was a local motorcycle business.

Pam said she doesn’t know why her husband decided to start a convenience store business. She humorously said it was just something that was on his bucket list.

Jones and his wife Pam also have a construction business and a farming business as 3 Way is their first convenience store.
