Closings set for President’s Day

Monday is President’s Day and many offices, agencies and schools will be closed to honor the occasion.

The Bolivar Commercial will be open for regular office hours Monday.

All of the banks in Bolivar County will be closed on Monday and reopen for normal business hours Tuesday. This includes: Bank of Benoit, Bank of Bolivar County, Cleveland State Bank, Jefferson Bank, Guaranty Bank and Trust, M&F Bank, Planters Bank and Trust, State Bank and Trust, Regions Bank and Southern Bancorp.

Drew City Hall, Mound Bayou City Hall, Rosedale City Hall, Ruleville City Hall and Shaw City Hall will all be closed Monday. They will reopen for regular business hours Tuesday.

Boyle Town Hall, Cleveland City Hall and Shelby City Hall will all be opened Monday.

At presstime, officials at Beulah Town Hall and Winstonville Town Hall were unsure if their offices would be open Monday.

No answer was received from Benoit Town Hall, Gunnison Town Hall, Merigold Town Hall, Pace Town Hall and Renova Town Hall.

The North Bolivar School District will be closed on Monday in honor of President’s Day.

Benoit School District, Cleveland School District, Shaw School District and West Bolivar School District will all be open.

Officials in the Mound Bayou School District were unsure if school would be in session Monday.

Delta State University offices will be open Monday and classes will meet.

RES will pick up garbage as usual on Monday.

All county federal government offices will be closed.

The Bolivar County Board of Supervisors will hold its regular meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning at the courthouse in Rosedale as a result.
