Two arrested for robbery of cable man

The Bolivar County Sheriff's Department made two arrests involving an armed robbery of a cable service man that took place Dec. 5 at Sunset Village Apartments in Cleveland.

After several weeks of investigation, Derrick Harris, 17, of Cleveland and Ryan Ledet, 23, of Alligator were arrested and charged with armed robbery. 

Both subjects are being held at the Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility and according to Sheriff Kelvin Williams, Harris is being classified as an adult.

At approximately 4 p.m. on Dec. 5, the sheriff’s department received a call that a cable guy had been robbed at gunpoint.

When deputies arrived on the scene, the cable service man said he was on the rear of building 5 running some cable wire.

He said that two black males approached him with a handgun and demanded money.

The two male subjects walked him to his service vehicle and took his bank card and cellular phone.

One subject was wearing a red jacket with grey hoodie approximately 5 ft. 8 in. and the other subject was wearing a long black jacket with a grey skullcap approximately 6 ft. Both subjects fled on foot.
