Stabbing suspect arrested

Deputies entered Joe's Bar on U.S. Highway 446 in Boyle on Friday night to find a man bleeding heavily from the throat area according to Gerald M. Wesley Jr., Chief Deputy at Bolivar County Sheriff's Department.

The victim, Armando Torres, was airlifted from the scene to The Med.

According to Wesley, it was later determined that Torres suffered wounds to the throat, chest, and stomach areas and is in critical condition at this time.

Witnesses said the suspect, Efrain Ramirez, 29, left upon the deputies’ arrival.

Ramirez was arrested Saturday morning at Westside Apartments in Cleveland and was charged with aggravated assault.

Ramirez is being held at the Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility awaiting court appearance.
