river Camp set for June 20

The Sixth Annual Donald Driver Foundation Football Camp will be held at Mickey Sellers Stadium at Cleveland High School for players ages 7-17 on June 20-21.

The campers will receive individual instruction in the details of rules of the game, passing, hand-offs, blocking, tackling and basic objectives of the game. The campers will also compete in flag football games.

The deadline for registration is June 17th and only the first 500 campers will be accepted. The cost is free for all. The free cost includes: admission and instruction, lunch daily, camp T-shirt (must be worn daily) and participation certificates. Campers need cleats or tennis shoes as well as practice shorts. Check in for campers will be 7 a.m. on June 20.

CPC tennis program set for Tuesday

The Cleveland Park Commission Summer Youth Tennis Program will begin on Tuesday and last through July 2 at the Fireman’s Park Courts.

The program will be divided into two sessions. The first program will be for boys and girls ages 6-10 and will last from 9-9:50 a.m.

The second program will be for boys and girls ages 11-14 and it will last from 10-10:50 a.m.

The registration fee is $60.

Nothing but Net set for June 18

The Cleveland Hoops Club will be holding its “Nothing but Net” shooting camp on June 18-20.

The camp will be held at the Margaret Wade Gymnasium from 8-11 a.m. and it’s for girls ages 12-18.

Instructors at the camp will include MDCC women’s basketball coach Burnadette McDonald.

The registration fee for the camp is $60, and the registration will be on June 18 at 8 a.m. at the Margaret Wade Gymnasium.

DSU baseball camps

The Delta State University baseball program will be conducting instructional camps this summer.

The first camp is for players in grades 1-6 in the upcoming school year, and it will be from June 10-12. The camp will last from 8:30 a.m.-noon each day.

The second camp will be for players in grades 7-12 in the upcoming school, and it will be an overnight camp that will be from July 14-16. Sessions will last from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.

DSU women to hold camps

The Delta State University Lady Statesmen will be hosting three basketball camps this summer at the Walter Sillers Coliseum on the campus of DSU.

The first camp is for girls entering grades 1-4 on June 10-13. The camp will last from 8 a.m. to noon each day. The registration fee is $100.

The second camp will be held on June 17-20 for girls entering grades 5-8. The camp will last from 8 a.m. – noon each day. The registration fee is $100.

The third camp will be held on June 21 and 22 and will be for girls entering grades 9-12. The camp will last from 5-8 p.m. on June 21 and will last from 9-11 a.m. on June 22. The registration fee is $60 for commuters and $95 for overnight campers.

All campers will receive instruction from players and coaches on the DSU women’s basketball team.

Registration can be done the day of each camp.
