Shelia Denise “Peanut” Carter died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Ruleville Central High School Gymnasium with Pastor James E. Moses officiating. Burial will follow in St. Clair Cemetery in Glendora, under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Glendora.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the school.

Ms. Carter was born on April 12, 1972, to Annie Carter and Frank Jones Jr. She attended West Tally schools and graduated from Ruleville Central High School. She worked at Ruleville Manufacturing. She was a Christian and attended St. Peter Church in Minter City. Later she became a member of the Church of God in Faith under the leadership of Pastor James E. Moses.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Laura Gibson and Frank Jones Sr.; her father, Frank Jones Jr.; stepfather, Fred Lee Spells; and brothers, Kennedy Jones and Louis Earl Jones.

She is survived by daughters, Krystal and Trista Carter of Ruleville; grandson, Khiry “Pooh” Gamble of Ruleville; mother, Annie Carter of Ruleville; sisters, Donna and Roxana Carter, both of Ruleville, Pearlean Carter of Phillip, Carolyn (David) Tillman of Clarksdale and Sylvia (Earnest) Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Rodger (Cherry) Carter, Ira (Anjanliga) Carter and Johnnie Gibson, all of Ruleville, Norman Carter of Charleston, Frank (Linda) Jones of Jackson and Steve (Margo) Jones of Chicago, Ill.; and special sons, Johnathan Carter and Jervaris Smith.
