Boy Scouts created their own customized checkerboard as an exercise in mathematics and logistics.

Girl Scouts Heart of the South held a STEM — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — course for Bolivar County Girl Scouts. The girls learned about DNA and how they are each unique. The majority of the day was spent learning how to plan, design and build structures using various materials. Both scouting organizations are supported by the donations of the United Way of Cleveland-Bolivar County.
