Also, the family of Gregory Johnson II is offering a $1,000 reward in addition to the Crime Stoppers reward for any more information regarding his shooting death on Nov. 1, 2012, at J. Y. Trice Apartments in Rosedale.
The Johnson family made an official plea for help with the crime this morning in Rosedale.
The Bolivar Commercial will have more on this announcement in Sunday's edition.
Johnson was discovered shot in the front seat of his vehicle after it had run into a wall of an apartment building.
In 2009, Peter Stout was found in his home with multiple stab wounds to his chest and legs. However, there were no signs of forced entry into the house.
According to then Mound Bayou Police Chief Simon Bush at the time of the murder, "Stout had called and said he needed an ambulance, that he had been stabbed."
Bush said when officers arrived on scene he was dead.
For some time after the murder, the police had a person of interest in the case. Nothing came of the lead and the case was eventually turned over to the Bolivar County Sheriff's Department.
"The case is not closed but due to resources and case load we've had to focus on other cases," said Bolivar County Sheriff Kelvin Williams in a recent interview.
Joseph Stout, Peter's brother, said he has heard rumors and gossip that gives him the impression his brother's murder could be solved if the right person would come forward.
