The Exchange Club of Cleveland invites the public to join its members in the recitation of The Pledge of Allegiance at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at the flagpole on the Crosstie Walking Trail in downtown Cleveland.

This project emphasizes the purpose of Exchange by embracing patriotism and promoting a purely American custom – saying the pledge.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to join together and express their love of God and country," said Denise Strub, Volunteer Field Representative with the National Exchange Club.

"Our club has been doing this program for several years now and we are extremely grateful that our city officials allow us to conduct this program in front of the downtown flag," she added.

“The weather is supposed to be nice Thursday and with Memorial Day following on Monday, we felt this was a perfect time to conduct this program,” she said.

Strub emphasized that everyone is invited to join them — other service club, government officials, law enforcement and military organizations.

However in case of rain, the program will be conducted at the Cleveland Country Club, where the Exchange Club meets. The time will be the same and the public is still invited.
