NSA Boys 55, Briarfield 20

The North Sunflower Academy Rebels continued their success as they cruised past Briarfield in District 2-A action Tuesday evening in Lake Providence, La.

NSA improved to 11-6 with a 5-2 mark in the district.

Ronny Henley led the Rebels with 25 points, 20 rebounds and 10 blocks, followed by Colton Moon with 11 points and 10 assists and Dylan Lofton with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

NSA will host North Delta in Drew Thursday evening.

Shaw Boys 73, JFK 51

The Shaw High School Hawks defeated the John F. Kennedy Hornets in Region 3-1A action Tuesday evening in Shaw.

Shaw improved to 12-5 with a 4-1 mark in the region, while JFK fell to 3-13 with a 2-4 mark in the region. The Hawks led 39-26 at halftime.

Octavius Stimage led the Hawks with 29 points, eight rebounds and three assists, followed by Zedric Bass with 16 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, Malik Walker with 11 points, nine rebounds and five steals and Andre Pruitt with eight points, six rebounds, three steals and three assists.

Shaw will travel to Benoit to play Ray Brooks in another region game, while JFK will travel to Greenville to play St. Joe in another region game on Friday.

East Side Boys 56, McClain 33

The East Side Trojans snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating the McClain High School Mustangs in Lexington Tuesday evening.

East Side improved to 12-3 with a 1-1 mark in the region. Charles Jackson led the Trojans with 20 points and eight rebounds, followed by John Paul Davis with 14 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks.

East Side will travel to Ruleville to play Ruleville Central on Friday.

Indianola Boys 64, Bayou 30

The Indianola Academy Colonels dominated the Bayou Academy Colts in District 1-AA action Tuesday evening in Cleveland.

Bayou dropped to 10-7 with a 4-3 mark in the district.

Chantz Arbuckle and Tyler Kitchings scored 10 points each to lead the Colts, followed by Peyton Aldridge with six points.

Bayou will travel to Helena, Ark. to play DeSoto on Thursday.

JFK Girls 45, Shaw 24

The John F. Kennedy Lady Hornets stayed perfect with a decisive win over the Shaw High Lady Hawks in Region 3-1A action Tuesday evening in Shaw.

JFK improved to 16-0 with a 6-0 mark in the region. Frederica Haywood scored 27 points with 19 rebounds, three steals and two blocks to lead the Lady Hornets, followed by Ieysha Mays with 10 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks, Alegsha Haywood with four points, three steals, two assists and two defensive rebounds and Latina Jones with five steals and two assists.

Mary Woods led the Lady Hawks with eight points.

Shaw will travel to Benoit to play Ray Brooks in another region game, while JFK will travel to Greenville to play St. Joe in another region game on Friday.

Ruleville Girls, 66, Humphreys Co. 61

The Ruleville Central Lady Tigers earned another win against the Humphreys County Cowgirls in Region 3-3A action Tuesday evening at Belzoni.

Ruleville improved to 12-5 with a 3-0 mark in the district. Robrieka Finn led the Lady Tigers with 28 points, three steals and seven assists, followed by Tateanna Collins with 12 points and Miracle Fonzy with 10 points.

Ruleville will return to action on Friday when the team hosts East Side in Ruleville.

Briarfield Girls 30, NSA 20

The North Sunflower Academy Rebels had a tough fourth quarter as they were outscored 10-2 in the quarter in their loss to Briarfield in District 2-A action Tuesday in Lake Providence, La.

NSA fell to 4-13 with a 1-6 mark in the district.

Amery Hocutt led the Lady Rebels with eight points, followed by Heather McCool with four points and 10 rebounds, Mari Max Wilson with three points and 10 rebounds and Shelbi Smith with a team-high 12 rebounds.

NSA will host North Delta in Drew Thursday evening.

McClain Girls 46, East Side 37

The McClain High School Lady Mustangs defeated the East Side High School Trojanettes in Region 3-3A action Tuesday evening in Lexington.

East Side fell to 9-5 with a 1-1 mark in the region. Keisha Cotton led the Trojanettes with 13 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks, followed Asiah Ward with eight points.

East Side will travel to Ruleville to play Ruleville Central on Friday.

Indianola Girls 40, Bayou 37

The Bayou Academy Lady Colts didn’t have enough in the tank to beat the Indianola Academy Lady Colonels Tuesday in District 1-AA action in Cleveland.

Bayou fell to 13-8 with a 4-3 mark in the district.

Anna Grace Cummins led the Lady Colts with 14 points, followed by Haley Sbravati with 10 points and Brantley Hutchinson with six points.

Bayou will travel to Helena, Ark. to play DeSoto on Thursday.

Briarfield Jr. Boys 39, NSA 30

The North Sunflower Academy Rebels were outscored 37-18 in the second half in their loss to Briarfield Tuesday evening in District 2-A action.

NSA fell to 4-13 with a 1-6 mark in the district. NSA led 12-2 at halftime. Jacolby Brown led the Rebels with 12 points and six rebounds, followed by Austen Redwine with eight points and eight rebounds and Rivers Ray with six points and five rebounds.

NSA will host North Delta in Drew Thursday evening.

Indianola Jr. Boys 57, Bayou 15

The Bayou Academy Junior High Colts had a tough night in their loss to the Indianola Academy Junior High Colonels Tuesday evening in District 1-AA action in Cleveland.

John Maggio led the Colts with 11 points.

Bayou will travel to Helena, Ark. to play DeSoto on Thursday.

Bayou Jr. Girls 33, Indianola 21

The Bayou Academy Junior High Lady Colts defeated the Indianola Academy Junior High Lady Colonels in District 1-AA action Tuesday evening in Cleveland.

Chrissy Tubbs led the Lady Colts with 10 points, followed by Adyson Starnes and Kailyn Loftin with seven points each.

Bayou will travel to Helena, Ark. to play DeSoto on Thursday.

Briarfield Jr. Girls 22, NSA 18

The North Sunflower Academy Lady Rebels came up short against Briarfield in District 2-A action Tuesday evening at Lake Providence, La.

NSA fell to 8-9 with a 4-3 mark in the district. Shelbi Smith led NSA with seven points and seven rebounds, followed by Jimmie Whatley with five points and eight rebounds.

NSA will host North Delta in Drew Thursday evening.
