South Panola Girls 62, Cleveland 45

The Cleveland High School Lady Wildcats suffered their first loss of the year as they fell to the South Panola Lady Tigers Monday evening in Batesville.

Cleveland fell to 2-1. McKinnon Skeen led the Lady Wildcats with 30 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Katelyn Thompson with eight points, 13 rebounds and two steals.

Cleveland Girls 51, Ray Brooks 35

The Cleveland High School Lady Wildcats defeated the Ray Brooks Lady Tigers in Benoit Saturday evening.

Ray Brooks fell to 1-1.

McKinnon Skeen led the Lady Wildcats with 17 points.

T’Kyra Hicks scored 11 points to lead the Lady Tigers, followed by Markelia Cross with 10 points.

JFK Girls 65, West Bolivar 39

The John F. Kennedy Lady Hornets (1-0) turned in a strong performance to tip off the basketball season Saturday against the West Bolivar Lady Eagles (1-3).

McNeese State signee Frederica Haywood led the Lady Hornets with 22 points, 12 rebounds, seven steals and three blocks, followed by Ieysha Mays with 17 points and Aleghsa Haywood with nine points.

Tra'Kala Robinson led the Lady Eagles with 10 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Rachel Hudson with 10 points, Jermelia Silas with seven points and seven rebounds, and Jaqueese Wilson with seven points.

Bayou Girls 53, DeSoto 18

The Bayou Academy Lady Colts cruised past the DeSoto School Thunderbirds in Cleveland Monday evening.

Bayou pushed its record to 5-2.

Taylor Ann Bailey led the Lady Colts with 11 points, followed by Brantley Hutchinson with eight points and Leigh Mabry Flemmons and Haley Sbravati with six points each.

Bayou Girls 53, Tunica 27

The Bayou Academy Lady Colts defeated the Tunica Academy Lady Blue Devils Friday night in Tunica.

Brantley Hutchinson led the Lady Colts with 14 points, followed by Anna Grace Cummins with 13 points and Caroline Salley with 11 points.

Marvell Girls 50, NSA 30

The North Sunflower Academy Rebels came up short against the Marvell Academy Lady Eagles Friday night in Drew.

NSA fell to 2-2. Baylee Billhofer led the Lady Rebels with 20 points.

In Thursday’s action, NSA best DeSoto 45-35 in Drew. Amery Hocutt led the Lady Rebels with 13 points.

Bayou Boys 61, DeSoto 49

The Bayou Academy Colts defeated the DeSoto School Thunderbirds in Cleveland Monday evening.

The Colts stayed perfect as they moved to 3-0.

Chantz Arbuckle scored 18 points to lead Bayou, followed by Peyton Aldridge with 17 points, Nat Jones with 11 points and Tres Heinsz with 10 points.

Bayou Boys 42, Tunica 25

The Bayou Academy Colts cruised past the Tunica Academy Blue Devils Friday night in Tunica.

Tyler Kitchings led the Colts with 16 points, followed by Chantz Arbuckle with nine points and Nat Jones with seven points.

West Bolivar Boys 54, JFK 39

The West Bolivar Eagles improved to 2-2 on the year Saturday against the John F. Kennedy Hornets (0-1) behind 27 points from Terrance Johnson. Jeremy Drummer scored nine points with 13 rebounds and Ladarius Jackson scored eight points. Khalil Strickland led JFK with 10 points, Earl Hall Jr. and Fred Haywood scored nine points each.

West Bolivar will play Broad Street Thursday in Shelby.

NSA Boys 71, Marvell 24

The North Sunflower Academy Rebels blasted the Marvell Academy Eagles Friday night in Drew.

NSA improved to 3-1.

Ronny Henley led the Rebels with 29 points, followed by Colton Moon with 20 points and 11 assists.

Marvell Jr. Boys 32, NSA 28

The North Sunflower Academy Junior High Rebels lost to the Marvell Academy Junior High Eagles Friday night in Drew.

Jacolby Brown led the Rebels with 13 points, followed by Rivers Ray with five points.

On Thursday, DeSoto Junior High defeated NSA 26-17. Ray led the Rebels with nine points.

Bayou Jr. Girls 39, DeSoto 28

The Bayou Academy Lady Colts improved to 4-0 in the regular season by defeating the DeSoto School Junior High Lady Thunderbirds Monday in Cleveland.

Chrissy Tubbs led the Lady Colts with 15 points, followed by Adyson Starnes with nine points.

Marvell Jr. Girls 28, NSA 26

The North Sunflower Academy Junior High Lady Rebels fell to the Marvell Academy Junior High Eagles in Drew Friday night.

Brittany Burchfield led the Lady Rebels with 13 points, followed by Shelbi Smith with eight points.

In Thursday’s action, DeSoto slid by North Sunflower Academy 34-31 in Drew. Jimmie Whatley led the Lady Rebels with eight points, followed by Shelby Smith with six points.

Shelby Middle Girls 40, West Bolivar Middle 31

The Shelby Middle School Lady Jaguars remained undefeated at 8-0 Monday with a win over the West Bolivar Middle School Lady Eagles.

Tonneisha Bell led Shelby Middle with 17 points, followed by Destiny Hall with 13 points and Jekeja Hemingway with eight points.

MGJH Girls 35, Ray Brooks 30

The Margaret Green Junior High Lady Wildcats slid by the Ray Brooks Lady Tigers Saturday evening in Benoit.

MGJH improved to 6-0. Mariah Forest led the Lady Wildcats with 13 points, followed by Aurelia “Scoobie” Caine with eight points, Maya Anderson with six points, Madeline McLaughlin with five points and Olivia Whatley with three points.

Bayou Jr. Boys 49, DeSoto 20

The Bayou Academy Junior High Colts defeated the DeSoto School Junior Thunderbirds in Cleveland Monday evening.

Logan Clark led the Colts with 19 points, followed by John Maggio with 11 points and Christin Fuentes with seven points.

Tunica Jr. High Boys 32, Bayou 23

The Tunica Junior High School Blue Devils slid by the Bayou Academy Colts in Tunica Friday night.

Zach Willingham led the Colts with 12 points, followed by Spence Martin with five points and Logan Clark with four points.

D.M. Smith Boys 47, Merritt Middle 40

The D.M. Smith School Trojans defeated Merritt Middle Monday in Cleveland in a tight one. With the win, D.M. Smith remained undefeated at 10-0.

Kamarian Williams led the Trojans with 12 points, Peyton Taylor scored 10 points, five assist and five steals, Stanley Buford and Alfred Weir scored eight points each.

West Bolivar Middle Boys 29, Shelby Middle 15

The West Bolivar Middle School beat Shelby Middle Monday to improve to 4-3 on the season. Otis Rice and Detyvion Butler scored 10 points each.

West Bolivar also defeated John F. Kennedy Jr. High Saturday 33-22. Rice and Tristian Shelton scored 10 points each in the win.

West Bolivar will be back in action Thursday in Leland.

MGJH Boys 43, Ray Brooks 28

The Margaret Green Junior High Wildcats defeated the Ray Brooks Junior High Tigers in Benoit on Saturday.

MGJH improved to 4-2.

Quintiyus Causey led the Wildcats with 19 points, followed by Brent Brown with nine points, Josh Hill with eight points and Bryer Weast with four points.
