The Board of Supervisors of Sunflower County is pleased to announce that it has received by donation from the Monsanto Company an industrial site and facility located on Second Street in the City of Indianola.

The gift includes 23 acres of land and an industrial manufacturing and warehouse facility of approximately 500,000 square feet.

The facility was most recently occupied by Delta and Pine Land Company, which merged with the Monsanto Company in 2010.

For many years, the property was utilized by MTD Products, Inc., for the manufacture of lawnmowers and other wheeled goods.

The board of supervisors is very enthusiastic about the potential of this property for economic development purposes and job creation within Sunflower County.

The property is presently being prepared for presentation to potential industrial tenants, and the Board is working diligently with the Mississippi Development Authority for the location of an industry in this building to provide needed jobs in our area.
