Mildred Comer Jobe, 89, a long-time resident of Montgomery, Ala., and a native of Prentiss County, died at her daughter's home in Hogansville, Ga., on Monday, February 3, 2014.

She was born in Wheeler on February 1, 1925.

Visitation will be at noon on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Booneville Funeral Home in Booneville followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m.

Ms. Jobe graduated from Wheeler High School and went on to MSCW and Ole Miss.

Her career in medical administration lead her to forming MILCO, Inc., a company of owned and leased nursing homes in Alabama.

She served on the Alabama Nursing Home Association Board for many years and was president in 1989.

While living in Montgomery, she was active in the Civitan Club, enjoyed travel, SEC football, Wynlakes Country Club, book club, and playing bridge.

Ms. Jobe was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Comer and Myrtle Adams Comer, and by her brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Peggy Cox Comer, of Booneville.

She is survived by her children Lynn Pace (Larry) of Cleveland; Debbie Jobe of Hogansville, Ga.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her nephew Thomas (Lori) Comer of Booneville; niece Linda (Rick) Caldwell of Baldwyn; and nephew John Comer of Hernando.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
