Michael Shane Champion, 40, died on Monday May 26, 2014 in Baytown, Texas.

He was born on September 24, 1973, in Charleston and resided in the Drew area most of his life. He was a truck driver for Ken Jones Transportation in Cleveland and was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Steven Sims.

Visitation will be from noon- 2 p.m. Friday May 30, 2014, at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Ruleville.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Ruleville with Rev. James McNally and Rev. Rick Milan officiating. Burial will be in Drew Cemetery in Drew.

Pallbearers will be Chad White, Stevie Sandifer, Kelly Champion, Craig Waldrop, Tommy Ferguson Jr. and Steven Shane Sims.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Jenkins, John Ferguson, Chris Koll and Steve Moody.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Champion of Ruleville; daughter, Felicia Hutchinson of Ruleville; stepdaughter, Cynthia Hayes of Monticello, Ark.; stepson, Walter Hayes of Monticello, Ark.; father, Tony Champion of Drew; mother, Lela “Cindy” Bibb of Drew; maternal grandfather, El (Ann) Hugh Ferguson of Cleveland; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Gray of Drew; sister, Kristi Champion Tegano of Ruleville; and three brothers, Kelly Champion of Ruleville, Shannon Sims of Pontotoc and Steve Shane Sims of Jackson.
