Mrs. Lillie Mae Burchfield Phillips, a homemaker, has gone to be with our Lord Almighty as of August 18, 2013. "Lil" was born May 5, 1920, the youngest of 10 children in Sunflower County to Thomas "Tom" and Sarah Jane Burchfield. She married Max Everett Phillips and they lived together until his death in Greenville, where he was a farmer.
Lil was attendee and was an organist at Greenfield Baptist. She was a kind, giving person and an ideal Christian; loved by all who met her, and lived her life through God.
"Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is." - Eph. 5:17. "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Eph. 4:32
"Lil" is preceded in death by her brothers Etha Dewitte Burchfield, Robert Wyses Burchfield, Upton Burchfield, Delbert Burchfield, Hugh Burchfield; sisters, Janie Rollins, Ruby Tyler, Ruth Lunceford Smith, and Hilda Brooks; her infant son; husband, Max Everett Phillips; parents, Tom and Sarah Burchfield.
Survivors include: numerous nieces and nephews, including Linda Gray, Sara Brooks (Michael) Beil, Macie Brooks, and two very special ladies, who loved "Lil" as if she was their mother, Ann Taylor and Terry Starkey.
