Johanna "Jody" Edna VanDaley, 82, of Pittsburg, Mo., died February 22, 2013, at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Mo.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2013, at Hathaway-Peterman Chapel with Dr. William Hooper officiating. Burial was in Dooly Bend Cemetery under the direction of Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home, Wheatland, Mo.

She was born September 20, 1930 at Compton, Calif., the daughter of Edward Robert and Rosamary (Coykendall) Leggett. She was from a large family in southern California and had three brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the championship team from the Riverside Bowling Academy in 1948.

She met and married Donald Phillip VanDaley in 1949. They were married for 62 years.

She worked with her husband at Reliable Life Insurance Company in St. Louis, Mo., for 20 years.

They both retired in the ’80s and made their home in Pittsburg, Mo.

She is survived by her children, Donald VanDaley Jr. of Cleveland, MS., Gordon VanDaley of Brighton, Ill., Sheryl Herrold of Humansville, Mo., and Janet Kromat of Springfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
