James Emory Sheffield, 71, of Shaw died on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at the Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton, officiated by Kevin Clayton, followed by a burial in Dorsey Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.

He was born on July 11, 1942, in Cary, Miss. to Hubert Stephens and Midred Senter Sheffield.

He was a regional supervisor in the natural gas industry.

He worked for Trunkline Gas Co., living in Shaw, Stingray Pipeline, living in Texas, and Texas Eastern, living in Clinton, before retiring in 1999.

He has lived in Hernando the past eight years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Sheffield of Hernando, Miss.; two sons, Guy Emory Sheffield (Angie) of Hernando and Jason Heath Sheffield (Mindy) of Olive Branch, Miss.; one daughter, Cindy Sheffield Michaels (Darren) of Scottdale, Ga.; four brothers, Hubert Neil Sheffield (Kay) of Ocean Springs, Miss., Richard Wallis Sheffield of Scottsboro, Ala., David Sheffield (Cynthia) of Overtt, Miss. and Buddy Sheffield (Nina) of New Bern, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Love Loftis (Bart) and Lilla Rose Bradford (Doug), both of Gulfport, Miss.; six grandchildren, Kailey Christian Sheffield, Dylan Noah Sheffield, Joshua Caleb Sheffield, Isaiah David Sheffield, Samuel Walker Sheffield and Eleanor Grace Michaels; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.
