Geneva Jackson (seated, center), a Certified Nursing Assistant at Bolivar Medical Center Long Terms Care in Cleveland, was honored Wednesday for receiving a major award from the Mississippi Health Care Association at its 6th Annual CNA Conference held in October.

The Mississippi Health Care Association recognizes CNAs from each of its six areas of the state and one winner is also selected as the overall winner.

Jackson received the CNA award for Area 2.

“Congratulations to Geneva Jackson on being selected as the Area 2 CNA award winner,” said Vanessa Henderson, executive director of the Mississippi Health Care Association. “Clearly, her work ethic and compassion shows that she puts residents first in providing high-quality care to them.”

Jackson was described as a CNA who is “greatly respected by residents and co-workers. She always takes time to talk one to one with the residents and she has the special ability to get challenging residents to respond when others cannot. Her love for her job is evident in her relationship with her co-workers. She readily volunteers to helps where needed. She always portrays a positive attitude and encourages others to do the same. Even after 36 years, she is always willing to adapt to whatever changes are needed to provide better care to her residents.”
