Tickets for the luncheon may be purchased in advance or at the door. Attendees are invited to dine in or carry out. All proceeds benefit Bolivar County Habitat for Humanity.
“Since 2003, Bolivar County Habitat for Humanity has held an Election Day soup luncheon. The money derived from the luncheon is used in Bolivar County to build a qualifying family a new home. Habitat is a Christian organization that works to build decent, affordable housing for those in need and to make shelter a matter of conscience with people everywhere. Habitat’s mission is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Please join us on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, for soup and cornbread at First United Methodist Church where we will celebrate this wonderful organization and its work in our community,” says Lee Aylward, board president of Bolivar County Habitat for Humanity.
Now in its twenty-sixth year, Bolivar County Habitat for Humanity, Inc. seeks to put God’s love into action by bringing together people of different backgrounds to build homes, community, and hope. With the enduring and generous support of the community, Bolivar County Habitat has provided over twenty qualified families with safe, decent, affordable housing.
